Keith

Just heard that Charlie Moody won the Derby yesterday and Lanier Fogg took second with Zeus. They only had 5 marks to judge on, but the good news is that all the dogs entered in the Am. will get to run today!

Congratulations to Charlie and Lanier!

A five mark Derby.....with 30 entries.....interesting.....were there any extenuating circumstances?

I think I was told that about 12 dogs finished, so it wasn't because they ran out of dogs. How are the grounds? Did the Amateur or the Qual. have anything to do with this? Maybe the grounds couldn't support 4 stakes running at once. Did the same judges also judge the Qual.?

Just found out that Lanier got 3rd place with Ajax (AJ for Miriam) in the Open. He got Third in the Am and Jammed the Open at the Specialty. What a great week.

I guess the competition was not as tough at Nashville?

Way to go AJAX and ZEUS!!!! Yeehaw!
Lanier, I guess this means you'll insist on Hoss coaching your boys before the next trial. Just remember - no money can change hands. We don't want to mess up his amateur status.

Yes, that will give Ready his AFC. He only needed 1/2 point. I don't know if Ready has any other Open points this year to qualify him for the National Open though.

I just heard that River City Jesse James, handled by my husband, won the Q!!! Sorry, but I have no more info, for the moment.

The Am water blind was finished between 1 and 1:30, but Steve didn't have the callbacks yet.
