Dogtra T and b

I bought a 5 year old Dogtra 2000 T and B on ebay. This is my first collar. I hooked it up to my arm and tried her out. I didn't feel much at all on nick until about the 10 to 12 mark on the dial. On constant the stimulation was more easily felt at lower ranges. Moving on up the dial it was pretty strong. First, is this about "normal" for one of these collars(to not feel the nick until this level), and second, will the dog "feel" the stimulation at about the same levels as me. I'm sure it will need to be set for the dog, but wondered if their sensitivity was close to ours. I really didn't need the T and B, but got what I thought was a decent ecollar for a good deal.

That is normal for the Dogtra.

Dogs feel the difference the same as you do. But their physical thresholds are generally higher than ours. When you start training, you should start on the lowest level and work up to be sure your dog isn't an especially sensitive one.
