Does anyone have an idea of what Texas Trials are held in January and February. The AKC site only lists one. I am planning a month long training trip and would like to train for a couple of weeks then hit a trial or two.

TIA

Take a look at WRC - they have a decent schedule posted - I can't recall the trials for Texas though...

The trial season does not really pick up here until March. Usually March, April and the very beginning of May. Then late September, October and November.

www.texasretrievers.org
gives a schedule, while it might not be totally acurate (it depends on clubs geting new data to the web master) it is a guide of all the retriever events for Texas.

It shows Coastal Bend (Corpus Christi) as being the only FT during Jan-Feb.

The Alamo Retriever Club has been a hunt test club for the past few years but will return to the Field Trial schedule on the first weekend of March, 2006. It's a trial a lot of us in the club have been looking forward to for a long time.

Port Arthur has a trial in February.

The only Trial I have found in February is Coastal Bend in Corpus Christi and for that one there are conflicting dates. I would be interested in the Port Arthur dates as well.

Thanks to all that replied.

Dubya is right aobut Coatal Bend's date. Texas Retirevers's date is wrong, that's is why I mentioned that you should use the calendar as a guide only...always double check the data with AKC or the club's web page.

The Waterloo club (Austin area) is working to schedule a DQ during February...probably the weekend following Coastal Bend's full trial and located within an hour or Austin. The Alamo trial will use their traditional date which falls in 2006 as March 3-5 and grounds near Hondo (about 45 minutes west of San Antonio).

I would love a DQ in February. I will be coming from California and that would be fantastic. Please let me know if that would be happening.

Also, for clothes packing purposes what type of weather is there in the Giddings Texas area in late January and early February?

Thanks so all our help.

Glad I got on here to find out Waterloo is hosting a DQ in Feb.

Does Waterloo know that it is hosting a DQ in Feb?

Toller packing is tricky....could be from highs in the 30's to the 80's Lows the same thing we get in the teens sometimes.
