I have a 9 month old choc. lab and am looking for a hunt test to do. I live in N.E. NC and have never competed in one before but would like to get into it. Any help would be great. O yeah and this is my first post.
Thanks,
Stephen

Try searching AKC and EntryExpress for HT in an acceptable driving distance. I recommend you go to the Yadkin River Waterfowl and Retriever's Club Fall HT. Those people know how to make you feel welcome and make your introduction to HT FUN !

Welcome! There will be several coming up over the next few months in Virginia. Blue Ridge is having one September 23&24. Tidewater the 30 & 1 of September & October (in Chesterfield, much closer) and Back Bay Knotts Island on October 13, 14, & 15, in King William on the Wonderful Old Towne Farm. At any of these you may find some people looking for training partners. All should be listed on Entry Express.

Good Luck!

Thanks for all the replies. This is more than enough to get Jake and myself going.

Lumber River Retriever Club is having a Club Trial Sept 17 near Newton Grove, NC. At our club trials we set up test following AKC Hunt Test guidelines. We give out placements for 1st-4th and judges award of merit (JAM) in JH, SH, and MH or participants can run their dogs for just training purposes. We have a puppy stakes also. It is a great, but informal way to learn about the HT. LRRC is also having an AKC Hunt Test Oct 6-8 in Bennettsville, SC. Visit www.lrrc.net for more info about the club or email me freemanteam1@bellsouth.net.
