Hi Gary

This sounds like an interesting event. Can you tell me more about how you are making it a "fun" trial?

Regards, Jason.

Jason, the "fun" part means it is not a licensed trial with championship points, so it's "just for fun". Along those lines it is "fun" because it is usually more local in nature-no pros from across the country competing against you.

The call-backs are more generous. There are stakes such as the beginner and intermediate stake that are not held at licnesed field trials.

The Hassett gun dog stake is like a competitive Master Hunting Test with no boundaries. There is no limit to distances (or anything else). One year I judged it and we used snow geese to retrieve for one series. That was FUN!

PS I'll pay your entry fees if you can make it over

Sounds like a fantastic event John! Almost all of our events down here are run on pigeons so I would love to see how the dogs handled a goose!

Great to hear more about the work you are doing to bring the fun element in your retriever games.

All the best for your event and Merry Christmas,

Regards, Jason

PS - I'd love to come over, but my dogs aren't getting enough training at the moment to make a trip down the road for a trial worthwhile!
