Congrats Mimi and Carl...two Fargo dogs #1 and #2. Heard the water blind in the Amateur was very technical, Craig Stonesifer, guest judge from the east coast. A great guy, we are lucky to have him!

Wow Very Impressive for Mr. Sargenti!
Just curious, did he buy all of Carr-Lab or just CL2?
Billy bought CL-2 and built a house and a kennel on it. He started working for Rex as a pre-teen and went off on his own as an adult. As far as I can tell there was no other retriever oriented assets to buy from the Carr estate.

Thanks Russ - CL2 are some beautiful grounds!
Rex's home was often called CL1 and included Rex's house, the main kennel building with probably 25-30 runs. There were also pidgeon pens, a 3-4 acre training field with swim-by pond and of course the main Kennels office was there as well. There was also a small house that the yard work pros lived in - I think Billy lived there, as did a few others over the years.
The training field usually had horses in it and there was also a small stable for Rex's stallion.
I wonder what happened to that property?

I wonder what happened to that property?
The houses and kennel building are still there, surrounded by subdivisions.
And BTW, CL-2 is now called Billy's Place.

Wow it has been a LONG time. I remember that there were vineyards next to the training ground, it is hard to believe subdivisions... I guess you probably wouldn't be able to train there now.
Billy's Place... has a good ring to it :) It would be hard not to think of it as CL2 though.
