DEL BAY RETRIEVER CLUB TRAINING DAY
Saturday February 23

Location: Zilli Farm, 177 North Street, Hartly, Delaware

Cost: Free to DelBay RC members, $10 fee for non-members. (Annual Del Bay RC http://delbayretrieverclub.org/MembershipInfo/Membershipapp.doc membership: $20)

The training day will be capped at 40-dogs, not including puppies (12 weeks to 6 mos.), with each handler limited to two dogs.

Flyers—ducks and/or pheasants—*may* be available, at a cost of $10, and dead birds also will be used.

The training day will consist of two series/setups and a blind for dogs that handle.

Setups will be designed for hunt test participants but at a handler's request, marks may be lengthened and made more difficult for field trial work.

8:30 a.m. - Signup

8:45 a.m. - Puppy retrieving

9 a.m.- Training

Participants are also strongly encouraged to volunteer afield—to throw birds, plant blinds, and assist however they may—during the day, so that everyone gets a turn or two handling their dogs.

Pre-registration is not required, but participating handlers should be onsite when the training day begins. Otherwise, they may not be allowed to join in.

Announcement refresh--and also to note that Del Bay RC's no longer capping the number of dogs for Saturday's training day, though handlers are limited to two dogs each.

Note too that the club hopes to hold another training day next month, also in Delaware, and ahead of the DelBay RC hunt tests March 15-17 in Dover.

Bert, will happen, just won't happen this weekend. Will take place after the DelBay HTs on dates above and with plenty of notice (and forethought so as not to conflict with any tests [or FTs] in the area. If it does conflict with trials, may just be a HT only training day with the option of lengthening marks. Stay tuned. And why weren't you at the first DelBay training day, went off like a charm and I know distance ain't a problem for you.

Bert, was it catch-and-release--or...or, a la American-bred field trial dogs, were you *sticking* on them? Don't look too far below to get the joke, lame as it may be.
