DEL BAY RETRIEVER CLUB TRAINING DAY
Saturday February 23
Location: Zilli Farm, 177 North Street, Hartly, Delaware
Cost: Free to DelBay RC members, $10 fee for non-members. (Annual Del Bay RC http://delbayretrieverclub.org/MembershipInfo/Membershipapp.doc membership: $20)
The training day will be capped at 40-dogs, not including puppies (12 weeks to 6 mos.), with each handler limited to two dogs.
Flyers—ducks and/or pheasants—*may* be available, at a cost of $10, and dead birds also will be used.
The training day will consist of two series/setups and a blind for dogs that handle.
Setups will be designed for hunt test participants but at a handler's request, marks may be lengthened and made more difficult for field trial work.
8:30 a.m. - Signup
8:45 a.m. - Puppy retrieving
9 a.m.- Training
Participants are also strongly encouraged to volunteer afield—to throw birds, plant blinds, and assist however they may—during the day, so that everyone gets a turn or two handling their dogs.
Pre-registration is not required, but participating handlers should be onsite when the training day begins. Otherwise, they may not be allowed to join in.
DIRECTIONS:
From the North: Take Rt. 1 or 13S to Smyrna, Del., turn right onto Rt. 300/6. Continue on Rt. 300 until turning (slight) left onto Rt. 11 (Arthursville Road). Turn left onto Rt. 44 and proceed approx. 3/10ths of a mile. Turn left on Rehak Drive and follow signs.
