The LRC (a Master National Club) will hold its AKC Hunting Retriever Test at
the beautiful David Didier farm in Mooreland, GA. For the first time at a
National LRC Hunt test, there will be a double Junior stake and a double
Senior stake. In other words, handlers will have the potential to earn 2
legs towards either the Junior title or the Senior title; running both
Saturday and Sunday. The Master Test will be divided according to AKC rules
regarding the number of dogs being run and will start Saturday and finish on
Sunday. Judges are pending AKC approval.
The grounds are very picturesque and well suited for a hunt test. There will
be an opportunity for handlers to buy lunch on the grounds if they choose.
In addition, a free dinner will be served on a hill overlooking the ponds on
Saturday night. There also will be a raffle held that night with proceeds
going to Lab Rescue. There are three motels near the test grounds if
handlers wish to stay there, and the Howard Johnson does accept dogs. Entries
will be made through Entry Express. It is very exciting to see the eagerness
and willingness of so many individuals from numerous states volunteering in
various roles. Of course, as in any hunt test, volunteers are needed and
never turned away. My co-chair, Joyce Woods and I are very excited about
this event. Anne Evans, Co-chair of the National HRT.
