Way to go Molly Panichi, Paul and Jenn!! This is molly's 2nd win, so if she wasn't already qualified for Nat'l Am she is now.
Open--yes, had a great day with Izzy and Regi. I started them in the Open on Friday because Bob had to work all day. We got through a triple with 2 retireds and a 400 yard cross wind rolling land blind that went past a former gun station that had birds on top of buckets/bag of birds inside the blind. On Sat. a.m. I was turning the reins back to Bob, and was encouraged to keep going since we were doing okay. So, I mustered my courage and as my friend carl says "bear down" and give it your best. Izzy, Regi and I went into the water marks in good shape--12 dogs to the water mks. It was a quad with 2 retireds. One of the retired guns was very hard to see, and if the sun was out it was impossible. Cloud cover helped some with that bird, but the thrower was a skinny kid who was wearing a black long sleeved shirt with a white tshirt over-and from the side he was REALLY skinny with black arms.
Anyway, I was honored to go to the line with Izzy even though we doubled handled--one was my handling error on the send and the other he didn't see that skinny kid so had to handled there as well. And, I was so thrilled to make it through with Regi. He is exciting to ride to the line.
The first/last/only Open I ran prior to this one was back in about 2003 when Bob had a shattered leg. It was a quad, Izzy picked up the gobird and by the time I got done moving him around for the next bird, he thought he was running a blind and I'm not kidding. Mike Lardy was trying to honor this disaster. It was a memorable moment, for sure.http://retrievertraining.net/forums/images/icons/icon11.gif
My Am group helps me SO much--learning to handle and train the dogs. We've had Regi home for a couple of weeks, so this was a great opportunity for me to train him and run him. Izzy has been home since fall of 2007, but he is Bob's dog too. Also credit to Dave, Paulette and Ty Rorem for their training expertise and handling tips.
Thanks everyone for the "Congrats!". These nuggets are why we all keep going in this game. Ann

Whenever I have observed Bob, he has been a fair judge and very helpful. Both Bob & Ann do more than their fair share of work at trials. I am pretty much new to the game but I respect both of them for their dedication & hard work.
Thanks everyone! Yes, this is Mollie's 2nd win, qualifying her for the National Am. It has been an unbelievable fall!
