: Special Youth Handling event

This Saturday - Oct. 25th. Cajun HRC will be having a Special Youth Handling event in conjunction with the Fall Regular Hunt Test. This will be an excellent opportunity for your youth to get acquainted with dog handling at higher level. This event will be held Saturday afternoon.
We are going to set up a "seasoned" test and the youth will run the test "alone" (no help from Mom or Dad) and be coached and critiqued by the judges. If they prefer, the test can be run as a Started test with the singles. We will have some special ribbons and some other treats that a few vendors were gracious enough to donate. I believe that Tina Soprano, the event coordinator, has arranged for each handler to receive a lanyard and whistle as well. There will also be a "youth raffle" to help generate special funds for future youth events. At this, our first event, each participant will receive a "participation ribbon". We have agreed that at future events it will be "pass/fail" to instill realism and a challenge to the youth to work on their skills.
We hope you & your youth will come join us!
