I saw one of the editors of the website http://www.theoildrum.com/ give a seminar yesterday. Lots of great information on the site about the future of energy production.

The future of coal in this country will be depended on technology to make it clean. One of the biggest problems with coal burning power plants is mercury/Hg pollution. Most people think of Rocky Mountain National Park as a pristine wilderness. There is more than meets the eye there. Fisherman who fish the high mountain lakes and streams in the park are advised not to eat their catch due to Hg levels in the fish. The source of the pollution are the coal burning power plants in Colorado and Wyoming.
