Open is a Quad....

A retired bird at 3 o'clock approximately 100 yards. Thrown R-L.
A retired bird at 1 o'clock approximately 225 yards. Thrown L-R.
Flier at 11 o-clock approximately 200 yards. Thrown R-L.
Dink bird on left approximately 50 yards.

Taking 12-15 per dog, hot already....no news on success rate yet, too early to tell is my guess....

Don't have the call backs but I can tell you that the last dog ran at about 7:30pm. 12 dogs were picked up. Other work varied from very good to very big hunts especially on the long retired. 67 dogs entered, one scratched. One other note, when the flyer guns sat down they too were retired.

Sorry Lainee that I didn't do better with Bullet (17)

Nothing to be sorry about, sounds like bullet did not do his part, two hunts doesn't play when the rest of the field is doing considerably better with no hunts and or just one! Bullet gave you his Butthead impression! ;)

Goodluck with the remainder of your crew.

Any news on the Derby

A couple of hours ago the derby was running the second, the open had 23 back to run the water blind (which was running when I left.) Am had 19 or 20 back to the land blind. In the Am first series 16 picked up and 13 were dropped for various reasons (????) First of the Am was a triple with a short flyer to the right, a retired mid distance and a 400+/- retired long bird to the left. The order was left to right. wind direction and lighting varied greatly. Very hot this afternoon! Sorry I don't have any specifics.

Derby started on water. Flyer across a creek and then a swim into the pond for the memory bird. Both marks in the 120yd range. Most did it but some certainly did it better.

2nd as tough water test fairly tight with the long bird across the pond up out the other side across two or three smaller hidden ponds and then up the hill. I wathced about the first half of the dogs run, and they were having some trouble with it for sure. Some did real nice jobs though. Judges were setting up tests and letting the dogs decide the outcome.
