Smartwork Seminar
With Evan Graham
“Late Transition”
October 7-10, 2009
Location: Monroe, Washington (Greenleaf’s)

The Smartwork system includes three books – each illustrated by the author – and currently eleven very detailed DVDs. A growing list of champions and accomplished retrievers are listed on the Rush Creek Press website, www.rushcreekpress.com (http://www.rushcreekpress.com).

Late Transition Seminar Outline – 4 Day Camp
Transition is the time after “Basics” and before you have a fully trained dog. This seminar will help you and your dogs finesse your skills as you near the end of transition. This seminar will also lead into some advanced skills for your fully trained retriever. This 4 day camp will allow time to work on problem areas as well. We will cover:

Finishing transition
Late transition marking
Bird placement
Advanced diversions
Land blinds
Water blinds
Cheating Singles
Troubleshooting
Tune up drills
Over/under drills
Chinese drills
Contrary blinds, and more!

The emphasis is to “train the trainer” and you will have many opportunities to learn these skills by working your dogs on a number of drills – keep in mind, not all dogs will work all drills – some dogs will be limited by their skill level or simply by the number of hours in the day.

 ALL DOGS MUST:
 Be well beyond “basics”
 Have literal casting
 A reliable retrieve – this seminar will not cover force fetch
 Be working at a Senior~Qualifying level (younger dogs are welcomed but may not have as much working time depending on their skill level)
This is a great opportunity to get started on your homework for next season.

Cost: Working - $400 (limited to 15) / Spectator $250

Looks nice, Paul. I look forward to working there. I plan on involving a good deal of bird placement instruction, along with significant water blinds. I've heard nothing but good things about that property.
