This is the second year of attempting to use my MMP. I love the concept but I know for sure that the whine of the motor flares birds. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there any way to quiet the motor? Would be nice if there was an on/off switch instead of having to fumble with AA batteries and hold onto the plastic cover too. Thoughts...

I have used them guiding for four years and have not experienced this. We even have had them whining like they had sand in them and ducks still came in on top of them.

I have had problems with one unit getting gunked up and have sent them in. I have two that this happened to, but we field hunted with them also in peanut field sand. One of them works fine, the other is bad again.

My buddy has had one for four years.

Yeah, the lack of an on/off switch is a pain and keeping the top unit safe is a hassle, especially when guiding. However, I swear by them on calm water. Better than anything else AND geese won't flare of of them like they will a spinner.
