View Full Version : Hartz Mountain Knuckle Bones

Anyone use these? We have been using the smoked knuckle bones from TSC etc, but they break apart in sharp shards which one of our dogs threw up last week.
The Hartz seem to be more of a composite material than real bone, but might accomplish the same thing...teeth cleaning.

Tom, my girls get compressed 12 or 15" rawhide bones. Jewel-E has never had to have her teeth cleaned yet [11 1/2 yrs old] and neither has Gem-E [4 1/2] - no need.
I just watch when the 12" bones get down to around 5-6" and save them for my "granddogs" when they come. Maggie is a small spaniel & Edison a small terrier. They get them for a while and then into the garbage with the ends.
No raw pieces to get stuck because of being compressed. Usually $6-8 a bone, much less than the cost of vet-dental cleaning.
