The Rice Creek Hunting Dog Club will hosting an AKC Retriever Hunt Test Judges' Seminar on Saturday, March 20, 2010. The seminar will be held at LeBlanc's Rice Creek Hunting and Recreation in Little Falls, the home of the RCHDC. Registration fee is $40 and includes morning refreshments and pastries, lunch and the registration required by the AKC. Jerry Mann, head of AKC peformance events, will be the presenter. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged. the semianr will begin at 8:30 AM and be concluded around 5:00 PM.

If you are interested in getting into judging retriever hunt tests, this is the first step in that process. If you are already a judge, you need to renew your initial seminar after your first three years of judging, not so if you have already attended two previous seminars, then you need to take the written test which you must request from the AKC directly.

The seminar is not only open to potential judges however. If you are a handler who wants to learn more about the judging process and what the requirements of the different test levels are, or learn more about what judges are looking for in the performances of the dogs and handlers they judge, this is an outstanding way to see what happens on the other side of the clipboard. It is a great learning opportunity and an excellent way to interface with several of the judges you will running under.

For more information fel free to contact the seminar host, Gordie Schlichting at hohumsretrievers@aol.com or call at 320-685-8997.

Hope to see you in March.
