YRWRC Spring AKC Hunt Test, Louisburg, NC (March 6 and 7!!)

The Yadkin River Waterfowl and Retriever Club would like to invite everyone to come out for our Spring hunt test at Jumping Run Farms in Louisburg, NC on Saturday and Sunday March 6 and 7th. We have excellent grounds, excellent judges, and a hunt test committee that is committed to making this a great weekend. We have requested Carolina sunshine for the weekend!! Please note that our test is planned earlier this year than usual as we know that many of you are eager to get the season started.

Update - The YRWRC is excited to announce that we have added a non-AKC for fun puppy trial to be held at 12:30 PM on the Saturday of the upcoming Spring hunt test in Louisburg.

Details Below:
Puppy Stakes: The Club will sponsor a non-AKC puppy trial as a for fun event. The puppy stakes will be held at 12:30PM on Saturday in the headquarters area. This will be a great opportunity to enjoy seeing the future talent of the sport while enjoying the delicious lunches that will be available for purchase. BBQ will be served on Saturday and hot dogs/ hamburgers on Sunday. The puppy stakes event is open to all retriever and gundog puppies.

There will be a Junior Puppy series for puppies from 10 weeks to 24 weeks old and a Senior Puppy series for puppies from 24 weeks to 1 Year. Each puppy will be judged on 2 single marked retrieves. Judging will be based on natural marking ability and enthusiasm. Puppies may be run with a check cord and obedience is not judged. Return to handler will not be judged except in the case of a tie. A 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Place ribbon will be awarded to the first 4 places in the Junior and senior series. The entry fee is $10. You can sign up at HQ on Saturday morning. Please do email John Shoffner at jshoff1227@aol.com with your name, your dogs's name, and his/her age so we have an idea how many puppies to expect.
