State Police, FBI investigate extremist letters to Granholm, other governors
Mark Hornbeck / Detroit News Lansing Bureau

Lansing -- The Michigan State Police is investigating a threatening letter sent by an anti-government group to Gov. Jennifer Granholm and more than 30 other governors demanding that they leave office within three days or be removed.
The letter, sent by a group called Guardians of the Free Republics, was received in the governor's mailroom Monday, said Tiffany Brown, spokeswoman for Granholm.

I remember how upset everyone here was about the report early last year about the fed's worry about violence from right wing extremist groups...

Interesting that a letters asking someone to resign has now been turned into a threat. I read the FBI thought nothing of these letters.

I wonder what the group's goals will be when 30 governors resign. Do they have a plan on who they would like to vote in? Why not wait until the normal election time?

PS... I guess a lot of us are anti-govt. here per my MBA ECON class.

Conservative = anti-government since the government will only oppress. Individuals can best determine the best way to allocate their resources.

Liberal = Individuals can't make correct decisions on what is best for the economy and country, so the govt. should control everything.
