David Duke?

Seriously, there is no way in hell that they can force kids to remove a tshirt that otherwise complies with the schools dress code! The bandanas, they were correct in asking they be removed, as proper respect and etiquette discourages the wearing of the American Flag as an article of clothing. Rocky Balboa had it wrong, and so did these kids if they wrappeda flag around their heads.

Was this the same school district that was activating web cameras of kids in their bedrooms?? If you ever wander where the American nazis are, I suggest checking local school boards!

nothing wrong with the bandanna!!! it is improper to wear an actual flag as clothing, but the image of stars and stripes on a bandanna is not an actual flag. these bandannas are worn by patriots all the time.

Well there are always three sides to the story. Let me start by saying making them turn the shirts inside out was WRONG and telling them they were being insensitive to the Mexicans was wrong, if they are in school there one would guess they are AMEICANS not and not Mexicans unless they allow illegal’s in that school.
To the point of the bandanas, form what I read elsewhere, wearing bandanas in that school district, as in many others around the country, is against the rules primarily due to gang activity, so I have ZERO problem with them being told to remove them regardless of what color they were or what was on them. Also the American flag is not to be displayed in that fashion and therefore they are not simply the patriots they are claiming to be.
Plenty of blame on both sides of this story. My true feeling is these kids were wearing this in order to stir trouble and are not the innocent children the press and parents would like you to believe. Don’t get me wrong I support freedom of expression and do feel there is a lot wrong with how the school handled it, but they are not the only ones a fault.

The story said the pricipal told them to remove them because of being insensitive to Mexican-Americans.

1. If someone finds the American flag insensitive any day of the year should get the fudge out.

2. Maybe the principal could explain tolerance to the Mex-Am students and that they don't have a right to start a fight over school colors.

The inmates are running the asylum.

Another thing that irks me is when people display American flags with imprints of the twin towers, or patriotic logos silk-screened on them! I know they probably mean well, but that is desecration of the flag, and should not be tolerated. I don't wear flags on my back or on my head. I display mine on an appropriate staff or mast, or properly folded and encased, in the case of my father-in-law's funerary flag.

Wasn't that the logo of Fox, CNN, or one of the other major TV networks, during the coverage of 9-11? I seem to remember seeing that description plastered all over the television in those days.

While you hold the flag in high regard and there is behavior that should be adhered to pertaining to our colors, the supreme court has ruled otherwise and many of our citizens do not feel the same way or adhere to the same beliefs or principals

This was a political statement by the students, standing up for our nations colors while other student were celebrating a holiday that has roots in another country and the school system made a political statement to back those students celebrating the foreign holiday. The school system was not showing loyalty to the flag.

When I am at an event and our national anthem is played, my hand is over my heart, I stand at attention and I am proud of my country.
If you are around me, you had best shut your mouth, and at least respect me and my moment, if noy YOUR country and YOUR flag.
If you don't, you will hear about it, probably for the duration of the event.

If you feel it is cool or avant garde to demean my country and my flag, that is your right.

It is also my right to mention how annoying you are to me and possibly commit an act of aggravated assault!:D

Laugh, talk smack but understand this, if you are around me it will be no joke if you dis resepct my country, my flag or my allegience to them.

Amen Brother!
I almost got thrown out of the Steelers-Raiders game at Heinz field this year after telling this big, fat, ugly, disrespectful Raider wench behind me to shove a footlong in her chomper after she was yelling crap during the National Anthem. Well, she started f-bombing me, and that bought her a free escort to the door. Several people thanked me after that, including her husband/boyfriend WHO STAYED FOR THE GAME!!! hahahahaha
(all the way from California, he wasn't about to be denyed his football!)
