I know that NV got their funding cut also, even though we arent exactly a top target (except Hoover Dam)..it will be interesting to see who does get funded and if there is any correlation to either votes cast or political need...I am guessing those senators in tight races will get funding so they can go to their constituents showing what they brought home...Here in NV Harry Reid is toast so they wont throw good money toward a losing campaign

When the amount that needs to be cut is more than half of the discretionary budget and defense related spending is the majority of the discretionary budget, how can any progress be made on the deficit without major cuts in defense related spending?

So a 47 million dollar net increase is a cut?

You may also want to look into the distribution of funds for this program nationally. You will find that NY now gets a larger share now than a couple years ago.
