Nothing stunning here. Did anybody NOT predict this? I'd guess the judge was a hand picked conservative judge. I certainly wouldn't call it "stunning". Interesting and predictable. What would be stunning is if it goes as far as the Supreme Court and isn't overturned. Although that would also fall into the predictable category. It would be another 'stunning' example of conservative justices re-writing the constitution.

A very intelligent ruling by the judge!

The moritorium was rediculous and was purely political.

No matter what Pres Sec. Robert Gibbs says, he is clueless of the facts.

Again, those riggs could have been inspected in a few days. A six month moritorium would harm everyone.

Also, in the article posted by RK, the current collection devices at the leak collected 26,800 barrels yesterday alone.

The Obomo Administration will attempt tp get a Stay against the injunction. That would be with the 5th Curcuit Court of Appeals which just so happens to be getting ready for a two month vacation starting July 1st.

The odds of them getting one before then are slim and hopefully, slim just left town. ;-)

Dippity, who hand picked the Conservative judge???

I don't know. It was an off the cuff statement that I may live to regret. I do know that the precedent has already been established that Presidents don't have to follow the dictates of the courts. Remember the "Unitary Executive" invented by the conservative camp a few years ago. Although, unlike his predecessors, I would expect Obama to follow the dictates of the Courts.

dippity why would you expect Obongo to follow the dictates of the courts? He won't enforce the current Federal Laws on the books right now regarding illegal immigration. Why do you think Arizona enacted their own legislation?

..."Unitary Executive" ....

I don't believe this has a thing to do with the relationship between the executive and judicial branches of government. The "Unitary Executive" refers to the concept that the President is the complete and final authority on the executive branch.

Doesn't have a thing to do with the executive overriding judicial decisions.

Salazar says he's going to re-write the order. He'd best use some caution because judges get really P.O.d when executives get too cute. The judge leaned heavily on the purposefully erroneous misquotes of the experts...who then denied saying the things attributed to them.
