I heel my dog on my left (his right).

This past Saturday I heeled him to his first Sr pass!

I am sharing this with my friends here on POTUS!!

Great! So whose line manners were better, yours or his?:lol:

I will never forget my very first hunt test. The judges took like an hour to figure out passes. I got all the birds, so I figured I had a chance. Well, when they handed out ribbons, my name went uncalled. When I was leaving, they headed me off at the pass and asked if we could talk. They explained that the reason that they took so long is that one judge was insisting on giving me a pass, the other said NO WAY! They said that the dog was a wonderful marker and obviously really loves the work. But they said, you should get with a pro and learn how to get such a high powered dog under control. Then, come back and give it another shot.

How embarrassing!

HaHa.....HIS, they were pretty good.
He had an honor dog break on his shot flyer.
Been dealing with noise since.
He was a little noisy on the shot water flyer.
Pinned the marks.
2 whistle to water blind.
Smoked the land marks, w/u on a small mound.
1 whistle to the land blind.
He was quiet at the line except for the first water flyer, sat solid.
It has been a challenge.

When he is released though he is hell bent for election.
Comes back just as hard.

I am proud of him, I have been told we couldn't do it.
(we have also been told by some very prominent Pro's that we could do it)

If you have a high drive vocal dog, stay the course.......It can be done!!

Good job Stan.

And Buzz, I had that same speech given to me with my first hunt test dog (the one in my avatar). Fortunately a lot has changed since then (she was only 7 months old at that time).

sounds like whatever you're doing is working! now just don't let success undo what you've worked so hard for.

good luck in future tests!-Paul
