Just saw on the news that the 520National Guard troops that were supposed to arrive at the AZ border on the 1st are not coming. Guess we're being punished

of course your state is being punished. But as I have stated before, you have TWO US Senators that seem to sit on their hands and do nothing.Seems like your Gov. is the only one with some chutzpah and willing to take some heat..everybody seems to want to play politics with your state's security issue. I really feel for the residents of AZ,especially for those in Tuscon,Yuma and even parts of Phoenix where you are impacted by the presence of illegals in you cities..stay safe

"We won't have any units deployed by August 1," said Lt. Valentine Castillo, a public-affairs officer. "We don't yet know when troops will actually arrive."

[QUOTE]"We have until the end of September to fill the 524 slots," Castillo said. "They're giving us August 1 as the first day we can put troops on the border. But we're not going to be able to."

Castillo said soldiers and airmen will have to go through weeks of preparation before they can be placed in the field, where they are expected to take on jobs in border surveillance and intelligence.
