Has anyone tried the Garmin unit that uses the ATT network? As one that has lost a dog this may be a great answer. My biggest reservation is how rural my area is i am afraid the signal wont be much. I know ATT isn't real good for cell phone use around here.

A freind has one and loves it. We do have a great signal here. If you need to hold your phone up for a signal forget it. The dogs head is down low you need a good signal.

You might want to wait for the new sport dog with the garmin gps, or the Astro.

They operate on the murs band. You can always buy an antenna and put it on a hill if you need more range. It's better for real time tracking.
