Political ads running with every commercial and in my mailbox everyday.
My question to you RTF'serss............
I know that I am NOt the only person that is confused and often frustrated with the ads that are circulating.......
What does a person believe and what ads are taken out of context for political gain????
I am NOT interested in political parties or any of the politicial labeling it is just more confusing.
I would like to know that when I cast my vote it is for the correct reasons and NOT because I thought that Joe Blow "Was" for this idea or that.
Am I really the only one??
Does it seem like it is getting worse???
Is it really too much to ask for the truth and NOT for someone's political gain???

Sue,
Here in WI, as you are quite aware, we have quite the political turmoil over the last 1.5 years.

Ask yourself this.

Is WI's budget balanced?
Are municipal property taxes frozen or going down?
Are many municipalities actually hiring teachers as opposed to firing them?

The only municipality that has major issues now is Milwaukee, where the union negotiated their contract before Walkers law was enacted.
The unionwould not renegotiate for an additional 2% to their retirement, so 500 teachers have lost their jobs with an estimated 1,000 more to go.

The down side?
There is no longer mandatory union membership and dues handling by the state.
(withdrawal from paychecks and deposit into unions account is over)

These are the facts, and they are undesputable.

Why do you think the unions from out of state are spending so much money here?
For the schools and kids??

Why do you think all the issues on the recalls have NOTHING to do with Walkers bill??
Maybe because it is working and they can't win that argument?

So they get personal and make things up or take things out of context.

It's very sad and very ugly.

Follow your heart in your decision making.
Good luck,

RK

The local 9-12 organization here in PA sends out questionnaires to all candidates in each election asking for their positions on various issues. Then the replies are colated into a summary for the members of the group to review.

No candidates are endorsed. The candidates' positions are simply reported back.

And, yes, it does get confusing when your mailbox runneth over!!

Just one bone to pick with you, RK. Some people's "hearts" don't judge very well :-) I think that some of my gender have blind spots where men are concerned !

My biggest problem with the politicians are:
Are they really I mean really really doing whats in the best interest of the people that elected them. Or do both parties have their own stubborn agendas and its more about being right?????
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

How does blatant voter suppression by Americans for Prosperity grab you?

AFP Wisconsin ballots have late return date

Americans for Prosperity is sending absentee ballots to Democrats in at least two Wisconsin state Senate recall districts with instructions to return the paperwork after the election date.

The fliers, obtained by POLITICO, ask solidly Democratic voters to return ballots for the Aug. 9 election to the city clerk "before Aug. 11."

A Democrat on the ground in Wisconsin said the fliers were discovered to be hitting doors in District 2 and District 10 over the weekend.

"These are people who are our 1's in the voterfile who we already knew. They ain't AFP members, that's for damn sure," the source said.

One flier was discovered in Hudson, Wisc. where Democrat Shelly Moore is attempting to upend GOP State Sen. Sheila Harsdorf in District 10; the other was found in Kaukauna, where Democrat Nancy Nusbaum is challenging Sen. Robert Cowles in District 2.

"If they're targeting for Aug. 16, they're hundreds and hundreds of miles off," said the Democratic activist who has been on the ground in Madison for months. "This has nothing to do with either Democratic incumbent up on August 16th."

The absentee trickery comes just as AFP has purchased $150,000 in ad time in Green Bay, Milwaukee and Madison to boost GOP candidates.

Correction: An earlier version of this post misreported that a flier was found in Milwaukee. It was actually discovered in Kaukauna.

It kind of grabs me as something made up.
Ican find nothing about it in any of the dead tree news sources.
(Wisconsin State Journal, Journal Sentinel)_

I think the union & the progressives are desperate and grabbing for straws.

That's how it grabs me.

And I find it funny that a guy from IL (the highest dead voter turn out in America) would comment on political "shenanigans."

After a bit of research, you may want to check out Sandy Pasch, the progressive running against Alberta Darling.

Where her financing is coming from, what boards she sits on etc.

Ahhhhh the unions, just for the kids!!!!;-)

Oddly enough Sue, it turns out that most of the money for the adds against the Republicans and for the Democrats comes from out of state.

The "Citizens Action of WI."
A union backed organization partially funded by a Washington DC group that we all know about!!;-)

But hey, that's OK cause they will all be out of here next Wednesday!!!
