Hey! Is This the first anti Obama Pop Song?
Hello potus group. As you all may or may not know I listen to Pop music. Although my definition of Pop and the music industries is VASTLY different. Anywho, I have been an Everlast/ Whitey Ford fan for a while. I "Discovered" this song this eve on the Friday night radio program I listen to (Yes I plan on and listen to a weekly radio program, ya got a problem with that?) on the "Alternative Rock" genre radio station I listen to my Pop music on. It is the "Top 9 at 9:00 on .999 The Buzz" and its a weekly countdown of the most requested tunes of the week. So this is Whitey Ford signing I get by, is it the first anti Obama Pop Song?

I am on my dial up so can't watch/listen, but go on youtube and search for Baracka Flacka Flame, not exactly a pop song more of a rap song, but not very flattering. Warning: gratuitous foul language and the refrain will stick in your mind for days..."Cuz I'm da head of da m*********n state y'all!" Dang now I'm gonna be hearing it all day in my mind

Ken, I listened to the whole song, and the only part I got that seemed to be specific to Obama was, "I voted for change now thats all I got in my pocket". Mostly it sounds like one more disgruntled person who is fed up with the status quo, ie "politics as usual". ????

Oh I don't know Carol. I count 5. But I just like this song. I like Whitey Ford. Ever since a few of his house pain songs.
I think it is most funny because he actually campaigned for President Obama. But many many pop artists are Democrats.
I hear it like this Carol He mentions / references-
Health care 1st
Don't trust Gov. 2nd
voted for change 4th
and called him "The Senator" 5th
it's just a simple pop song. But a start. And the youts will be a signing it, I feel.

YO, Ken...I didn't even know your ox was being gored, but one of the blogs I frequent had this story about your product. Wonder if it will help?
Having Solved All The Big Problems, Group Of Six Brave Senators Take On The Scourge Of “Fake” Maple Syrup
Rob Port (http://sayanythingblog.com/entry/author/admin/) • October 21, 2011
It’s about time, am I right? I was just wondering the other day when we were going to crack down on all these maple syrup counterfeiters (http://thehill.com/blogs/floor-action/senate/189087-senate-bill-would-make-syrup-fraud-a-felony).
Six senators introduced legislation that would make selling fake maple syrup a felony offense leading to fines and up to five years in prison.
The Maple Agriculture Protection and Law Enforcement (MAPLE) Act is a response to what chief sponsor Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) and others say is the increasing practice of cheating Vermont, Upstate New York and other maple syrup regions by selling inferior, fake syrup.
“I have been alarmed by the growing number of individuals and businesses claiming to sell genuine Vermont maple syrup when they are in fact selling an inferior product that is not maple syrup at all,” Leahy said Thursday. “This is fraud, plain and simple, and it undermines a key part of Vermont’s economy and reputation for quality that has been hard-earned through Vermonters’ hard work.”
He added that others in the syrup-producing regions of Maine, New York and other states also have been hurt. Sens. Susan Collins (R-Maine), Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.), Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) and Olympia Snowe (R-Maine) are all co-sponsors.
All joking aside, is there nothing too trivial for the federal government to take up and try to address? Is this really what our founders intended for the federal government? Declaring a war on allegedly counterfeit maple syrup?
It seems to me that syrup consumers can decide for themselves what kind of syrup they like and what kinds they don’t like. If Vermont syrup is truly superior, then the market will reflect that.

old news up here UB,
I was very pleased with the hard stand Bernie and Leahy took. They just busted another feller in the southern part of the state. Felony charges. Farmers like me put our blood sweat and tears into a product my family has been making since before Vermont was a part of the United States. At a glance folk see Vermont Pure on the label and they know the quality. These guys were taking sugar beet juice, from some southern state and adding like one cup of pure maple syrup per 33 gallon drum and then bottling and selling it. Maple Syrup is the 2nd largest cash crop we farmers have here. Lock those asshats up for life I say.
