...Can't Stand Success.

Dropping in polls due to foot in mouth disease, ego and comments on judges.

personally think the polls were BS, and propped up by the media to make a race out of things...How else can they explain that Newt is ahead in one poll but yet trails Romney in a national poll...really think the media makes it out to be a race so they have something to cover...come see me after the Florida primary and lets see who is still playing

Newt said he only made $35,000 for consulting work for Freddie Mac. Newt, show me the books!

It's far from over and only just begun.

I wouldn't count anyone out at this point...except for Huntsman and Santorum who never really had a chance.

Heck, even Palin said yesterday it's not too late to jump into the race.

Should be interesting. Don't believe the media...they are (again) trying to shape your opinion/vote.

I get on average three political poll calls a day. Has been this way for a month now. Will be glad when the caucus is over and my phone will stop ringing with political ads and polling questions.

Unbelievable! Every person that asks how much money Newt made, Never says SHOW ME THE CONTRACT!! Don't you think it would be nice to see what they paid him to do and if he FULFILLED THE CONTRACT??

If you think the contract was a fraud then WHY DON'T YOU WANT TO GO AFTER THE HEADS OF fANNY AND fREDDY WHO DREW UP THE CONTRACT???

I don't think it is hard to answer why you and others like you don't ask such questions. It is not hard to figure out.

Well, I am asking the question. Tthere is a bit of a discrepancy between the reports of the $1.6 million for Newt's consultation with Freddie and what HE SAYS HE actually received. Where did the rest of the cash go, then? The inquiring public wants to know. Where's the contract and where are the books.

Any idiot should know tht if you don't know what the contract called for in the way of services or product produced that whatever the amount paid doesn't mean a damn thing.

Freddy and Fanny are the quasi gov. agencies and there is supposed to be a freedom of information act. I would think that the press could get it if they wanted the information. They were able to get his charge acct. at Tiffany's, you would think they could get the contract from Fanny and Freddy if they wanted it, and if HE FULFILLED THE CONTRACT.

If Fanny and Freddy offered him a contract that paid him too much, it is their fault not his. I have never heard of a company going back to the gov. with a contract and telling it that they were offering too much money.

Let me know if you know an employee that has EVER told their boss that they were getting too big a raise and just give them a smaller one. Let me know if you know of someone who applied for a job and told the employer that he was offering too much money for the startng salary.

If I were Newt, I would respond "I signed a contract and I fulfilled the contract and otherwise it is none of your business."

The issue is: Is Newt telling the truth about what he got paid? I don't think he is when he said he only got $35,000 of that $1.6 million fee, for a history lesson at that. As for performance to the terms of the contract, that is a side issue. The central issue is Ginrich's credibility. He lacked the moral compass to pass on the deal. That is what an honest person would do.

Who recruited whom? An inquiring public wants to know that as well. Newt has been quite aggressive in pushing his status as a former speaker. That is how he was able to make his rise into the 1% club.

Again, where are the books?

Give me a break! Talk about drinking the cool aid. How can you even think like that. Fannie and Freddie have been a cash cow for so many politicians it isn't funny. How many past CEO's have been democrats?

No one in their right mind is going to pass if someone wants to hire your company and pay $1.6 million. This is what his company was paid not him personally.

Moral Compass my arse regards!

I haven't seen where he claimed that he was paid $35,000.00. You want to say where you got this information??

How can you possibly justify saying "he lacked the moral compass to turn down the contract". ESPECIALLY when you say you don't even care what the contract was??? What a joke.

Your statement that Newt said that "all I got was $35,000." IS A LIE. I watched the video and he said he was 'personally paid $35,000.00 a year for 6 YEARS!!!"

He also said that he makes more than that when giving a speech ONE NIGHT and he does. You may not like it. You may not wnt to pay him that kind of money and the good part is that YOU DON'T have to. But don't tell me that if someone would pay you more than $35,000.00 a night to make a speech that you would take "the moral highroad and give back all that you thought was too much!

Zeus, Cary, forget about that crap! Gingrich is just another political animal that has absolutely no concern for the future of our country or its people. We have a serious problem here. Our government is, in the words of a far better writer than me, a "Parliament of Whores." You can not separate right from left, Rep from Dem, or anything else. Our system has failed like the roof on the house I am renting. It is not a "leak", it is a failure. What we need to be arguing, is how we can fix it.

Bingo ! Ditto ! This is like a house that has needed cleaning for a long time..............where do we start ? Vote them all out ! If the new ones don't start making changes vote them out. We need to get them to forget about retirement checks when they leave also. I don't know if we need petitions or if we need to hound them day and night but they need to be reminded often.

I get tired of the personal attacks, especially if they are lies. Only once that I can remember have I given an opinion of the individual and that was when I heard from his mouth the President stating that the American people over the last 20-30 years had gotten a little soft and lazy. THAT did raise my hackles. I chalenged anyone to state ANY accomplishment in business that the President had achieved that would demonstrate his toughness and industriousness. For his statement about the American people, I called him an arrogant, egotistical prick.

Newt is no hero of mine. As far as who I would have liked to see run, that is Chris Christy. So far he has been a man that has not only talked the talk he has walked the walk. I like not only his policies but I like his fiscal successes in NJ. As to who I will vote for, Ihave not decided. the Tn. primary is a ling way off. As far as Newt goes, I do not like his support of Gov. Sponcered enterprise. I liked his contract with America but the Republicans themselves broke it.

I shocked my brother-in-law when I said that the Republicans were to blame for the situation we find ourselves in now. Had they not spent money like a drunken sailor and propagated more and more entitlements and instead stood firm against them and bigger gov., Obama would not be President now. If we as a country do not regain our appreciation of INDIVIDUAL FREEDOMS as opposed to RIGHTS, we are doomed to a socialist type country. The result as history so vividly shows is a country with a much lower standard of living for all.

Zeus brought up the birth certificate fo the President. Never have I even commented on it. I do know that you must be native born among other things such as age to be eligible. I assumed that the Fed. Election Commission would be responsible for certifying an individual as eligible to be President. I went to their web site to find out the requirements for certification. I could find no procedures for certification. I seed that it is only interested in finantial disclosure. I suspect that the gov. HAS NO REGULATIONS for certification of eligibility for President. the rules for certification are not Obama's fault, they are the gov. fault. if those who demanded his birth certificate have a problem with his eligibility then they should look at the rules for certification and not to Obama. That is where the problem is.

Buzz and disagree almost completely as to the responsibility of the gov. but I do not remember an instance where he has used personal attacks to support his positions. For that reason, I have great respect for him. I don't like personal attacks, period, especially when they are lies.

I'll add two unnecessary wars costing nearly 10.000 US lives, tens of thousands disabled and nearly a TRILLION dollars we don't have spent on the Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld disaster!

A region that is less stable today than it was 10 years ago. No end in sight for the damage it has caused to our Treasury. A policy that has grown Islamic terorism and help devide our country!
