Yes, it seems like that is the way it is. Going to send this to a few who can stand hearing the truth :-)

Pretty much falls in line with the fifth graders whose teacher thought would be a good class assignment to elect a class president. One boy was chosen, along with one girl. After the boy spent several days of campaigning with well thought out reasons why he should be elected, and how his ideas would help the class, the girl offered no campaign messages until the day of the vote. Then all she did was to say,"Everyone that votes for me will get free ice cream after school".

FWIW, it will be interesting to see how much "ice cream" (that's 'pork' in today's political speak) will be proffered in tonights SOTU campaign speech by Obama.:( It's my bet we'll be hearing about a 'porkulus II' before the nights out. And if you hear about mortgage forgiveness, as well as student loans being wittled down, you will have the "ice cream" election campaign promise his eager sycophants are awaiting to hear.

It will be hard to expect we won't become another Greece. Living in California, you certainly have witnessed a fair share of riots for far less problems than the SFN crowd not getting their hand-outs.

When the 'ice cream' has gone, and that happens when the dollar is no longer considered the money of choice in the world, and the Chinese stop lending to pay for our debts...hellsbells, not our debts, our annual over-budget....then the beginning of the anarchy will start overflowing. Most of the large cities have already had a mild taste with the Occupy crowd. It will just get bigger.

Hope you aren't close to LA, or Frisco. But wherever you live out there, be prepared, especially if the SFN, OWS, and unionistas put this loser back in office. He will spend everything that can be borrowed, until that spigot runs dry. This year you'll get a real illustration of what will happen in the near future in the US, by watching the European news, and seeing those countries with no more 'ice cream' dealing with trying to reduce what they've been giving out to their socialist comrades.

Along the same line of:

When you rob Peter to pay Paul, you can always count on Paul's vote.

“The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.”

― Margaret Thatcher

Given that debt is 103% of GDP...it looks like we've run out of money.

I live in California's ice cream dispenser, the SJ Valley. Yes there are conservative areas in California, just not enough of them.

thats because the demographics have changed so drastically in the last 20yrs...I grew up in Orange County which was the heart of the Republican party in Calif, but even that stronghold may be gone by now along with San Diego and certain pockets of No Cal
