New lab pup

I just got a new lab and am going to train her myself. Ive never trained a gun dog and have been looking @ books was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on the best books or dvds to help. I want to train her for mainly duck/goose hunting. Thanks for any help/suggestions you have!

I would check out Hillman, Mertans for puppy training the Lardy's TRT or Grahams Smartworks! Also a big help to join a local retriever club

A close friend of mine uses Mr. Grahams Smartwork series. Seems thorough.

the first book i read when i started was water dog it was nice and basic
