potty /synthetic grass

My daughter just moved from a house with a yard/doggy door to second floor apt. She has two mini schnauzers. Has anyone used these potty patch synthetic grass potties they sell at Petsmart and on TV

I've never used one (have all big dogs) but often wondered how that would work with dogs that lift their leg rather than squat? Inquiring minds want to know....

I think her male would lift his leg and soak her wall of the patio the other was nuetered young he squats
