Watched a show on the history channel this morning about the coal miners and the formation of their unions. The most interesting part to me was this show explained the origination of the term "redneck".

Evidently the miners donned red bandanas to show their solidarity and build a multi-racial union of white, black, and immigrant miners.

I thought when people pointed at me and said redneck they just meant I was a plowboy that spent to much time bent over in the field.

Who woulda thunk it.

I saw that program on History Channel and was saving that for a trivia contest. Speaking of Hillbillies, did you see where the Hatfields and McCoys broke the cable viewing record for non-sports programming?
