So I stopped in to the grocery store yesterday around 4:30 pm to grab some milk and dog cookies. Can't run out of dog cookies ya know, can live without the milk!
The person in front of me has milk, cheese and cereal that they pay for with a taxpayer funded WIC check and a 12 pack of beer that they pay cash for.
So they can afford beer but we the taxpayer pay for the food????
What is wrong wth this picture???
Yes I did make comments about it and I hope they felt at least a bit of shame. Of course they did not put back the beer!
This is what really infuriates taxpayers.
I would love a liberal to defend this.

I stopped at the local legion last night and had a few drinks with seven farmers, who received tax payed funded insurance, two of them had vehicles from the cash for clunkers program, it's endless isn't it? Heck if I started a new thread every time I saw a person with a beer that received a payout from the government..........

It's just one of those things that make me see red. I always food shop based on the meat sales and stock my freezer, pantry etc yet I am forced to pay for the waste by those that steal from the taxpayer. WIC is for items not $ so I the taxpayer shop for value while the leach can get the most expensive on my dime!

According to several RTF members people are entitled to all of this aren't they? I mean come on doesn't everyone have a right to lobster and steak. Geez, you 1%er's or what ever you call yourselves. So what if you go to work everyday to provide for your family and the countless others that are on the taxpayers handout plan. Oh wait according to many on here those people didn't choose their plight in life, instead it was thrust upon them by those greedy conservative bast#rds who care about nothing but getting ahead. To think some of the people on here actually have the nerve to use the phrase, "Give me a break" when someone points this type of behavior out!!!

Having worked on a register in a grocery store back in the day when food stamps were actually food stamps while paying my way thru college the screwing of the taxpayer was right in my face. The attempts to try and cheat even what was on a WIC check happened everyday. From trying to get more ounces of cereal than allowed hoping the cashier would not actually add up the ounces to using a cheese check to try and get imported brie cheese.

Where is the choice for the federal income taxpayer to not pay for this crap?
I choose not to pay for someone to eat lobster while I shop the sales but that doesn't matter. The feds still take my money and give it to someone who buys with my hard earned money what is not in my budget but could be if I weren't paying their bill!!!

Choice to not pay taxes? Surely you jest...

The only way to have the Fed stop taking your money is to change the Power Brokers in government...vote Obama out of office but don't vote for Romney either. I know, I know, this is a somewhat stupid comment but until we get the big parties out of the way and get people in government that actually care about the American people, NOTHING will change.

I did state that I have no choice, I must pay the taxes or be in big trouble. I am forced by the gov't to pay money that you then state the reciever can choose to buy with my hard earned money what is not in my budget.
This is what is seriously wrong. If you truly need the forced taxpayer to buy your food then we the taxpayers should require the gov't to make it a shameful hard choice like standing in a bread line not make it the other way.

Make something restrictive and respectful to others? Come on, you can't do that. If you do that, the liberals won't feel part of the group because they aren't walked all over by the government like the rest of us.

the pic that I posted??? negative ghost rider. actually turns out he was turning around and selling the food for profit, which is a crime. I hope they took him off welfare as well.

MENOMINEE, Mich. - Louis Cuff, 33, has been charged with welfare fraud for misusing hundreds of dollars of state-issued food stamps.

Cuff was arrested Wednesday but has been released on a $5,000 signature bond.

Authorities say Cuff used a Michigan-issued food stamp card to buy and then sell food items for about 50 cents-on-the-dollar.

One of the receipts from February includes six lobster tails, two porterhouse steaks and soda, totaling $141.78.

We can at least tell the person in the line stealing our tax money what we think of them loudly enough for others to hear and hopefully they too will call the person out!
Of course the networks won't do anything because they don't have the guts to say the truth. If you can buy the beer pay for your food!

Bring back a bread line. It should be a last resort to take from the taxpayer but sadly BUMMA is using taxpayer money to run ads to encourage this theft.

I used to ski with an African-American high school teacher and we talked about the plight of his race. He was very disappointed in what his race has done. He often said, "Kevin, the last thing we need is money."

It's like the old proverb, Give a man a fish and he eats for a day, teach a man to fish and he eats for a lifetime. The only thing most people need is a job and a willingness to do that job.

When i was a young Marine living on my own in Northern VA, there wasn't a barracks for me, I would often go to the store and buy a few packs of ramen noodles and maybe some Hamburger helper. One time I was in line behind a woman with 2 carts full of stuff, since it was the only line open(like normal) I waited as patiently as possible. I then listened to the arguement about not buying the correct cereal for WIC. No big deaol they went and got the right brand. Then I watch as the total comes to 500+ dollars, and out comes the EBT card thing, the cashier then said,"Ma'am your non food stamp total is 10 dollars and some change, the lady paid with cash. I paid for my 8 bucks worth of ramen and Hamburger helper and walked out to my car. And who do I see but the woman in front of me getting into a BMW X5 SUV.

It was at tthat moment that I realized i was eating junk and had a used car and this woman has plenty of food and a luxury car, and I was the one serving the country that she was taking advantage of.

PETERBOROUGH — Jackie R. Whiton of Antrim had been a six-year employee at the Big Apple convenience store in Peterborough until a single transaction sent her job up in smoke.

The store clerk was fired after she refused to take a customer’s Electronic Balance Transfer card to pay for cigarettes.

Whiton said a young man came in to the store to buy two packs or cigarettes on May 29. When she asked him for his ID, he handed her his EBT card.

EBT cards are used for both food and cash assistance programs. There are two types of cards: one can only be used for food. The other can be spent on anything and used just like a debit card.

Whiton said she did not think EBT cards could be used to purchase cigarettes and refused to sell to him. The two “had a little go-around” as the line got longer behind him, said Whiton.

“I made the statement, ‘do you think myself, that lady and that gentlemen should pay for your cigarettes?’ and he responded ‘yes,’ ” Whiton said.

I remember that well. Because I didn't have to go to a shelter, I wasn't around when they were handing out $2,000.00debit cards to each individual. Some households got as much as $16,000.00! The casinos and stip clubs were jammin with all the FEMA money. How about the story of a group that were living in public housing that complained that there wasn't enough steak being served by a chruch that took them in right after the hurricane. The chruch sent them packing the next day.

I'm not defending anyone....this an example of someone steeling, not the misuse of wellfare. The fact that they are steeling a few hundred or maybe thousands from the government to purchase steaks and resell them is no different that some defense contractor selling a hammer or toilet set to the government for millions.

Both are wrong but they are both theif. The intent of wellfare is to help people that need help just like the intent of military contracts are to defend us. The fact that a bad person takes advantage of them is not the programs fault.

Sambo, I just have to ask and I'm not trying to be hatefull or anything. My spelling is bad anymore so, please, excuse that. Where and when did you go through school ? What was your highest grade level that you completed. I changed schools in the 9th grade and it was an eye opener. I had previously attended public school and then started school in a larger church run school. It took me all evening and part of each night to complete my English home work in the new school. Public school English classes were a joke but being a 'kid" I had no idea what I had been missing. Thanks to Mrs. Welch part of my ignorance was "cured".

I'm just tired of his attacks at charactor because he does not agree. I may attack what someone says because that is what we are suppose to be doing and that is arguing the differnt views and hopefully we are better for it. If everyone agrees with you why bother to say anything on here. However, I'm sure that folks have taken some of my post and shifted opinion or rethought their existing opinion. I know I have learned from others.

We life in different parts of the country and that help frame our opinions on things. We have different upbrings, different proffessions, age, etc. We all want the same thing on here and our past have shaped us.

My biggest difference with you guys is that I think the democrats positions is best for us working men. I spent many a year listening to the republicans tell me how my tax dollars are wasted and I agreed with them and it made me angry like some of you folks. However, I finally realized that the rheteric was being used to get my vote and at the end of the day, I was not their concern. On the other hand the democrats do the same thing but I'm more economical aligned with them.

because in a free and open society and a forum such as this, if it was just two people going back and forth it doesnt open any other points of view for discussion

what would it look like if the other left leaning RTF'ers that agreed with you didnt post because they shared your sentiment...it would make for a very boring place

the same goes for dog training on the main forum...the answers usually appear within the first half dozen posts, but it makes for better discussion if someone adds a new wrinkle every so often, otherwise all you have is a mutual admiration society also know as a circle jerk

You are very opinionated which is perfectly fine....but sometimes you don't take it as well as you dish it out...you can toe the party line all you want but do you honestly think you are going to change hearts and minds here on POTUS....heck its even harder on the main forum, people cling to their training DVD's and gurus stronger than people on here stick to their candidates

In Sambos defense, I see exactly where is coming from, if someone posts just about anything negative about a political figure from the right the attacks are personal, not trying to argue the point just personal attacks. I think he takes quite a bit of abuse and argues his position seldom lashing back. Now I imagine the next post will be someone probably calling me a left wing nut job, because I defended the guy.

I just finished "The Amateur" by Edward Klein. Both you & Buzz should read it - took me about 3 hours & is straightforward. The author interviews a large number of people both supporters & detractors of the current POTUS & comes up with a profile that many on this forum recognized prior to his election.

As an aside, would MCain have done better? I've never been a McCain fan (another lifer on the public teat) but will say we would probably be doing better in the Arab states.

Funny thing today - I'm ordering some products from a place in KS, & the conversation turns to the fact that the government has never run anything well, as we were talking of the USPO & delivery times. I'm sure I brightened up the day of the person taking the order - a male, which is unusual on the receiving end of phone orders :).

Maybe, but it really isn't about the working man anymore, or shouldn't be. It is now about the country, because if we don't get the country back in shape, it won't matter what happens to the working man.
