If this buget cut goes through cutting the defense dept it means up to 120,000 layoffs problem is they have to give them their pink slip 60 days in advance which means it will go out the Fri before the election I feel sorry for anyone that votes for him thinking how great he is and than wakes up to a pink slip. Happy New Year to you

The Dept of Labor has supposedly sent a letter to Lockheed-Martin who is proposing 120,000 layoffs. In the letter they say that the firm risks action if they do this although by Federal law (WARN Act of 1988) they must do it.

In fact, quoting a now famous former Senator, " "The least employers can do when they are anticipating layoffs is to let workers know they are going to be out of a job and a paycheck with enough time to plan for their future." and then, "We must give the Warren Act (sic) teeth to insure that workers are not left in the lurch without a job or a paycheck." - Senator Obama

Interestingly enough, the 60 day requirement under the WARN Act will start the Friday before the November election.

Obama doesn't think we need a strong military. Romney believes we do.

Honestly i feel that obama doesnt want us having a strong military because he is scared that if they are to strong and full of pride that they will resist when he gives them the order to take over this country. just my opinion

I'm no fan of Obama but he didn't put us in this position; that honor goes to both houses of the legislative branch, on both sides of the aisle.

There are a WHOLE BUNCH of Senators and Congressmen who are very happy to see this problem laid at his feet. They all knew when they failed to act to cut spending this was a problem that was just kicked down the road a few months. THESE ARE MANDATORY CUTS that take place if they don't act. And they take in a lot more than just the defense budget. These are pretty much across the board.

If you're really upset about this, look at your legislators vote on that crucial day. Then go to the polls and do something about it.

I know most of you enjoy a good Obama hate fest but the blame for this is squarely on the legislature.-Paul

He didnt put us in this situation BUT he promised to get out us out (Hope and change, transparency remember) he broke that promise. He said if he didnt cut the deficit in half and lower unemployment he would be a one term Pres he should stick to his words and leave. He should not even be running for a second term he cant do what he promised. Just like he said he believed marriage was between a man and a woman he said it over and over again but now he flip flops and goes the other way to get votes. Gutting the military is the wrong thing to do he should not let this happen but he's MIA. Just look in Hollywood sure you can find him on a late night talk show or with one of his Hollywood buddies now thats really important. 120,000 more unemployed people that can't find work, can't afford their morgage on and on we go.
