I'd say he is pandering to the Ron Paul voters as a poll of his supporters indicates most are going onto Gary Johnson.;)

The bill to audit the Fed has already passed the House, thanks to RP. Harry Reid won't allow a vote in the Senate based on his feeling that tax payers shouldn't know how corrupt the Fed is.
