With the arrest of the film maker that created the problem in the Muslim countries (in the Obama administrations fantasy world), Sharia law now trumps our Constitution.
(you know, the film made in July, that caused the spontaneous out burst on 9-11)

How do you feel about this?

It ought to scare the begeeziss out of you!

The Film Maker Is Arrested
[ They hate us for our <s>freedoms</s> youtubes ]

Glenn Reynolds has all the details on the arrest of the film maker who made the movie that Barack Obama says caused riots throughout the Middle East.

I’m going to be charitable here and presume that the man was arrested on other issues that would not have come to light had such much light been pointed in his direction this past week. Note in the picture it is local authors, not federal authors putting him in a police car. That suggests to me there is more going on here.

But, presuming that, if we really are dealing with people who really are rioting because of a badly produced movie that’s been on the internet for a while and they weren’t offended until subtitles were added a week or so ago, are we not now conveying a strong message to them that, in fact, the government can punish blasphemers? And if so, doesn’t that now give them incentive to riot every time someone in the United States pisses them off?

I read earlier where they brought him in for questioning. He is in violation of his parole and can't send anything on the internet because of Fraud convictions.

Where's all of the outrage from our government for the countless videos, blogs, music, etc. that details the hate and distain for Christianity and Judaism? Where are all of the people lining up to protest? Gosh, muslims are such a loving people and islam a peaceful religion. Let's see either there is such a thing as Freedom of Speech or there's not regardless of the stupidity of the content. You know like a crucifix in a jar of urine or elephant dung on the Virgin Mary. I read where he was questioned, but not arrested. I fully support freedom of speech, but what this guy did was reprehensible. It was intended to insult, hurt, inflame, and incite. Unfortunately, it managed to do all of those things. If they can get this guy for parole violation, I’m all for throwing his butt in jail. As far as I’m concerned, the guy is a real slimeball.

Roughly 3 years ago, a Phoenix Police Officer and Army Reservist was killed in Afghanistan. The nut job church that celebrates GI deaths made their appearance at the funeral. My son served as Honor Guard, both at the widows home and at the funeral. As deeply offensive, disgusting and depraved as these individuals, their comments and signs were......I, my family and everyone that I personally know in the PPD would suffer the humiliation a thousand times over as opposed to giving up that freedom. It's part of our great society and the world (Muslims especially) need to learn to deal with it in some sort of reasonably intelligent fashion. From what I've seen of the Muslim world......that may take a couple of generations or more.

I read basically the same thing, he was questioned but not arrested, it also mentioned that he was on probation. I worked at a prison when 9/11 happened, we immediately placed all people of Middle East descent and all Muslims in solitary confinement, I am pretty sure if your name was Muhammad you probably had a tough time boarding a plane for a few days, did we probably violate some first admendement rights? Probably. Was it the right thing to do? Yes.

what is a person who released any film possibly guilty of? unless the film he released is child pornagraphy i don't think he committed a crime. many crimes have been committed, publishing a film is not one of them.

blackstone, would you feel the mayor of los angeles should be jailed for taking the action of calling a voice vote three times at the democrat convention when God was boo-ed and voted against by a clear majority if Christians had rioted and killed as a result of the public insults by democrats to the Christian's God? i did not think so!

we elected a black president that was loved, endorsed and admired globally to reconcile us to the muslim world. how has that worked out?

I am not really sure what your point is. I cannot make any sense of your 2nd paragraph. However, if you cannot see how
how this guy was wrong, there is no sense in me having a conversation with you. I didn't say releasing the film was a crime. I said he was guilty of trying to incite and insult Muslims. While that is not a crime, it is certainly dispciable. And, if he is guilty of parole violations, I hope they put him in jail.

Blackstone, people put stuff on TV everyday that puts down others religions, if you go on TV during prime time you will regularly see Christians insulted, because one group decides to riot instead of simply turning the channel doesn't mean that the one who put it out is guilty of anything.

The book of mormon is on broadway I dont see them burning down NYC...the foreign policy was bad to start with if a 14 min film that most of them haven't even seen could get them this mad. Obama didnt have the friendship he thought he had with his muslim brothers. This film had nothing to do with the attack to our Embassy on 9/11 and the Wh will have to accept that and admit that Obama has failed at foreign policy soon enough. There is alot worse than this on youtube. God help us if we dont deal with the middle east now because it will only get worse. well, at a glance one might think there would be great outrage. One might think that except for that pesky sermon on the mount. That feller the Romans nailed to a tree was purty smart. "They" should listen.
"Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also. And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloke also. And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain. Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.

With rights, come responsibilities. Intentially setting out to cause harm and claiming freedom of speech, is, IMO, an abuse of what I hold to be a very unique freedom we have in our country. You cannot yell "fire" in a movies house and claim freedom of speech. You will be arrested.

Right and Left extremists will use anything said, or done to further their twisted agenda's; and no one thing will be the real motive for their actions.

Good point... bit an innocuous video that very few people have actually seen... again, it's an excuse...

If someone yells "fire" in a theater that is a cause for action... people will run.

this video on the other hand... one has to voluntarily take action on their own to view it and his or her response to it is up to them...

It's sort of like people that desecrate the American flag... I choose not to view those type of acts because I know I will not react positively to them. I don't go to museums where some idiot artist is putting elephant dung on the flag or similar atrocities... If you know something is inflamatory, sometimes it's best to avoid it.

But in the ME... they gather like moth's to a flame for any reason to attack America... movie or no movie.

Egypt's general prosecutor issued arrest warrants Tuesday for seven Egyptian Coptic Christians and a Florida-based American pastor and referred them to trial on charges linked to an anti-Islam film that has sparked riots across the Muslim world.

The prosecutor's office said in a statement that the accused, which includes the film's alleged producer, face charges of harming national unity, insulting and publicly attacking Islam and spreading false information. The office said they could face the death penalty, if convicted. No date for the trial has been set.

You cannot yell "fire" in a movies house and claim freedom of speech. You will be arrested.

And we also have "hate crime" legislation to cover "incitement" to do harm to some "protected class". But there is a fine line between what might be considered free speech and use of free speech as a hate crime.

Yes, I saw it last weekend. I had to keep checking to see if I had the right video. What I saw was a very poorly made video that actually made very little sense. I can see where the themes of the video could be offensive. It said that Muhammad was gay, a murderer, a pedophile, and a thief. It accused Islam of being a false religion slapped together from “subversions” from the Torah and “subversions” from the New Testament. You could tell that the name Muhammad and some of what the actor portraying him said had been dubbed in after the fact. That supports what the actors said about not having any idea they were making a movie about Muhammad and Islam.

Personally, I may have been offended by what the movie implied, but it was so poorly made that it would have been hard for me to take seriously. I certainly would not be rioting in the streets over it. Of course, I’m not a Muslim in the Middle East either.
