Does this look like someone that shoots clays all the time?
http://i.huffpost.com/gen/971742/thumbs/a-PRESIDENT-SHOOTS-SKEET-386x217.jpg

His form is terrible. Besides the poor grip on the fore, he is standing straight up like he was shooting a rifle!

Possibly, a staged photo opt to appeal the GOP establishment:)

where is his shell pouch or shooting vest? why is there only one extended choke in the top barrel ?

to paraphrase Lloyd Bentsen....Mr President, I shoot skeet and you are no skeet shooter...

The Obama people have coined a new term for people like us that think he would dare stage a photo like this...

We are "Skeeters". Ala Birthers. Proud to be a skeeter... I don't believe he would know which end of the gun to point away from himself.

Who else would care to post a picture of themselves shooting trap. skeet or five stand? Some bellies extend beyond the extended chokes on many of us. It's easy to brag or criticize on the web. A few here on PP may be remarkable shooters. They are few and far between. It doesn't take a genius to point a shotgun in the right direction and break a target. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut occasionally...JD

Though I know many on this forum personally I missed that. But as I explained one day at the local trial I have a bigger roof over my shed than I used to as I am no longer as indiscriminate in my use of the tool contained thereunder & need to keep the tool sharp & uncontaminated.

I shot a couple of rounds of trap 50 years ago, now only shoot when harvesting game or training. Just make sure the gun I have fits me, somehow I seem to have what I consider a good shell to bird ratio, though not as good as the days when we sluiced them for food :).

Also his finger is wrapped around the trigger. He has long fingers, he is definitely not using the pad of his finger. His left elbow is pointing to the ground and the stock is in the joint of his shoulder, not in the "pocket". The fingers of his right hand are on the barrel, OK if you are wearing gloves but I don't shoot with anyone who does that, i.e. gloved hand on the barrel. And the watch?

If he shoots 100 clay targets that way he will be hurting.

Something is rotten in Denmark.

Sure Mike, I'll be in CO several times this year I'm positive. Maybe at a test you're running. We could do a Friday or a Monday, or if there's something I can make at RMR's, before or after the day.

SxS is almost un American, got to ask if you dress up in those little kelts or knickers with your wool cap when you shoot that? I thought we chased all those funny boys back across the pond. I guessing you have one of those funny looking fat labs with the stubby legs. :D

They only give him one bullet, of course someone loads the bullet. therefore he does n't need a shell pouch.

a couple of other Hollyweird people that know their way around a shotgun

Tom Selleck

Kurt Russell

Bon.

Those guys you addressed did indeed shoot,, and very well also.
I was talking Winchester Model 21 SXS owners...

I did leave out Clark Gable,, and Roy Rogers though.

I THINK Stack shot skeet with a winchester model 12.. (pump gun)

At breakfast this morning a few of us hunters were talking about Obama's form. None of ever have had any formal instruction. Our dads handed us a gun, explained how to work the safety and how to load and unload, then we went hunting. None of us figured that our form would look that great, but we all do pretty good against the birds...

kinda reminds one of that VW commercial where the man is trying to teach his son how to throw a baseball...I cant/wont say he throws like a girl because Dana is a former softball player and she can out throw most people that I know

ppro,
the gun is ported as you noticed, looks to have the 30" barrels, it has the schnabel fore end, it looks to me to be a browning 325 or 425 sporting. made in japan.

no obama fan here but give the guy a break.....everyone has to start somewhere!

I beg your pardon, but I learned to shoot, hunting Dove with a Stevens SXS .410 and I'm purty sure it's as American as it comes, founded 2 years before Winchester. Those first dove hunts were 50 years ago and I still shoot it every once in a while.

I'm a bit more interested in what powder is those shells. I don't ever recall seeing a smoke plume coming out of any of my shotguns or those of my hunting companions.

By the way. every sporting clay course I have seen has a unique design. Have none of you seen a station with clays rolling along the ground between logs to simulate shooting rabbits? Imagine if they released a pic of him at that station... All the know it alls would have really had a field day.

I'm not claiming to be a know it all simply pointing out my experience with sporting clays. Yes I have shot many of rounds at the fur and feather station; however the rabbit has never been six foot tall. Just sayin!
