I would like to run my dog in his first hunt test. I am new to this game and dont understand the hrc and akc test put together. Do you still get the hrc points if you pass?I would like to do a junior hunt test with my dog.

The HRC is part of the name of the club, not the venue. The HRC does not recognize AKC tests. The AKC gives no credit for a sanctioned test, either. It is a practice test for the club to obtain AKC approval for licensed tests.

So if I run my dog in a "sanctioned" test do we not get a ribbon or earn anything towards a title?

You might get a ribbon, depends on the club - the points do not count toward a title.

Usually the tests are a little cheaper in price and its good practice!

All Big D is affiliated with Hunting Retriever Club and now American Kennel Club. We will be hosting an AKC Hunt Test in the Spring and a UKC Hunt Test in the Fall.
The passes do not count towards a title, but we will be give our ribbons to all who have a passing score. Once we are ok'd to have a license Hunt Test, Big D wil be joining Master National.

Just a note - This is a Sanctioned Hunt Test (Preliminary). The points do not count towards a title. Big D will be giving ribbons for the dogs that have a passing score.

AKC said I could not use Preliminary on the Premium. They said everyone would know what Sanctioned meant. Well, evidently not.
