  1. I don't offer training tips. My husband Don trains our dogs. I kick the winger, plant a blind, or throw a bird. We started out with Golden Retrievers (mother and son) and hunt tests in 1999. Both got their MH titles. The mother ran in one Master National. Her son was an MH at 22 months and ran in two Master Nationals. He ran the Qual and became QAA. Then moved to Amateur and Open. Don preferred the competition of field trials. We got a black male Lab, then a black female Lab. The black male did ok in all age stakes, but was no big winner. Don washed him out and focused on the female who became FC/AFC. Flyway's Ruby B. Gonia. The last time we ran hunt tests was in 2009. That was our Golden Ret Flyway's American Flyer MH. He ran trials and then we ran him in hunt tests to get his MH. Before he got his last passes, he won an Amateur. He was 7 years old and in his prime. He suddenly become sick at a trial and die 3 weeks later of lymphoma. It broke our hearts.
