Hi Justin. Thanks for the input. I also have an extensive health guarantee on any pups I breed. The parents have OFA (hips and elbows), PennHip, CERF, EIC and CNM clearances and are titled. I too am very proud of my dogs and produce the best litters I can. I train and handle my own dogs. With all that said, I believe choosing the dog's name is the owner's privilege. I am flattered if they choose to include my kennel name. No offense intended to you or any other conscientious breeder. Have a great day. Mary
My name is Justin Schneider, I recently read a post that you put on a thread, you said "A breeder requiring a new owner to use their kennel name is just arrogant IMHO"
I do not try to be arrogant, in fact I do it because I am proud of the pups that I help produce, I spend alot of time and money making sure I produce the best litters I can.
I require a puppies from a litter I produce to have "Foundation" or "Foundation's" in their litter name in order to get the 26 month health guarantee, I believe that if I help produce a pup that is not phyisically sound I should be marked by that pup.. I feel it is a very small thing for people to do when they buy a pup considering I offer to refund the majority of the purchase price in my contract if something is wrong with the pup - they have 26 months to have EIC and CNM as well as hips elbows and Eyes checked over, I am sorry you feel I am arrogant, but I do hope the best for you and your dogs.
