Hi there,
It appears the policy has changed. Haven't posted an ad in a couple of years...
So I can only post ONE ad and it stays put for 60 days. I update JUST that ad.
So we can no longer do the every three weeks thing??
Help me out...

Kristie, Don't know the policy any better than you. But curious what litters you have on the way. ??

Don't hold this as gospel, but I believe that you can post one ad every 60 days. After 60 days it is deleted and then you can post another new ad. During that 60 days you can update the current ad.
I'm sure one of the moderators will give you the scoop!

There was a lot of discussion when the change was being considered. The 60 days assumed that you would want to place an ad sometime between breeding and confirmation of pregnancy and sometime between birth and 3-4 weeks. Some suggested a 30 days limit, others a 90 day limit. Chris hoped that the limitation would keep the length of the overall list short enough that people would look through the whole thing to see updates.
Ad is posted and kept on list for approximately 60 days.
That ad can be edited/updated as many times as you want during the 60 days. The editing/updating will not move the ad from the chronological order.
Once the ad is deleted (@ approximately 60 days), a new ad can be posted which will appear at the top of Page 1.
And it starts all over again.
The problem that occurs frequently is not posting hip and eye clearance information in the ad. These are minimum requirements for an ad to be posted on RTF's Classifieds. If hip and eye clearance info is not stated either in the ad or on the poster's website, the ad is deleted. A PM is sent to the poster alerting him/her that the ad has been deleted as it did not meet the minimum requirements. In the PM, the poster is advised that once they can post hip and eye clearance information, they are more than welcome to repost their ad. To try and make things easy for the poster, I always include the content from the original ad so they don't have to re-type the entire ad.
It doesn't happen often, but there have been a few times that some posters have tried to put up a new ad prior to the original ad being deleted. When that happens, the reposted ad is deleted, a PM is sent stating the guidelines and pointing out that continuing that practice could cause the poster to lose posting privileges on the RTF Classifieds.
Just trying to keep it equal for everyone.
I try to read each Classified forum on a daily basis to pick up missing minimum requirements, reposting and sold items/canines. I am human and occasionally miss one. I've received PMs alerting me to "abuse" on occasion which also helps. So, if you should see that an ad doesn't meet the minimum requirements either for health clearances or reposting, OR if your litter/dog/item has been sold, let me know please! An easy way to alert me is to edit your ad so that the first word in the ad is SOLD. :)
If you have any questions, I'll try my best to answer them.
