We are talking about adding features at no cost to already existing projects, not creating new projects out of thin air. There is a difference between the two.

Agreements reached in full public view are acceptable in my book. What we have today is agreements made in private, & those who caused this mess are the beneficiaries.
Our city is leasing from the state a piece of property - nearly a 1/4 section - I am looking at creating a multi use portion of this area for basic dog training. This will be for all people, not a select group. The facility will need an irrigation pond, which can double as a training pond, with the potential for a wetlands area they can sell rights to - nobody loses in a deal like that. Nothing would be free!
The other day I happened to pull a site that talked about crime - High crime = gritty cities whereas Low crime = pastoral settings. Is it a coincidence or does quality of life enter into being somewhat crime free?
Couldn’t agree with you more Marvin…what was suggested was a conflict of interests at best and bribing a public official at worst. Would be nice if OUR gooberment employees would see themselves stewards of other people’s money instead some kind of pseudo entrepreneurs and it would be nice if the State of Oklahoma would incorporate more ethics classes in their Masters programs.
What was suggested was not paying anything for the engineers, but just getting to know them. They can't take anything and keep their jobs.
What can be done is find out about subdivisions or apartments going in, and making sure they have the legal flood control structures in place that are required by Federal Law when you replace 100's of acres of grass and trees with pavement and roofs. There are many that get built out not following the federal law due to many reasons from over worked engineers to engineers with the wrong background in charge of aproving city plans, or pressure from city and state officials to approve the plans. Once you know they are going in, you can suggest unique structures on those flood control ponds that can be utilized for training or letting the local kids fish at no additional cost to the project.
I have seen more than one subdivision and apartment complex go in without the proper flood control structures which will increase the risk of flooding downstream on a 2, 5 or 10 year flood. This problem is compounded when you multiply this times hundreds.
I agree with you with requiring more ethics classes, and could go on for hours on that topic. Also, classes covering "False Attributes" should be a requirement before graduating high school or college.
I agree on you with the pseudo entrepreneur as well. The businesses should be able to come in and survive without our governments trying to add incentives to attract business. They also shouldn't try to spend large amounts of tax dollars in hopes of bringing businesses in. The businesses should come in, and the increase of tax revenues should be able to build the infrastructure to support the increased amount of businesses.
It is our money they are taking to spend. It is not theirs.
I don't find those big heads and long fingers the aliens have (not to mention the flat chest) attractive so that kind of porn is out

Really who gets hot and bothered over that? Besides that they don't seem to wear clothes anyway so is it really porn?
I called a friend who works for one of your referenced agencies and he said it would be highly inappropriate for a citizen to invite him on a golf outing (paid or not) to discuss public projects…he said he would inform a citizen of when and where public meeting would be taking place….when I asked him if it ever happened? He said…well it’s not suppose to happen like that.
