Back to the topic of the thread....what a GREAT idea THIS turned out to be...:rolleyes:


NADA asks U.S. to suspend clunkers program

Funding has run out, dealer group survey shows


I can't cut and paste the article due to copyright restrictions (you're welcome, Chris!), but look for this to break tomorrow....and with only about 15% of the money having been sent to dealers so far, look for this to cripple or kill several car dealers over the next few weeks.

And we haven't even MENTIONED the fact that the government had ZERO concern for the fact that most manufacturers had their plants on shutdown or summer slowdown, which will cause inventories to run WEEKS behind in replenishment....government involvement in the private sector...just what we need MORE of....:-x

I thought I just heard that GM was increasing production and recalling 1350 workers to meet demands brought on by CFC? I also recall hearing that dealers had months of inventory in stock, and that's why the plants shut down, to allow inventory to move. Sounds like simple supply-and-demand should come into play here and correct itself.
