Wow! What an eye opener.
2 years ago we faced a choice for our 4 month old puppy...take her home and "enjoy the time we had left" or taking a chance on exploratory surgery. We said our pup is a fighter...give her a chance and she'll do the rest. She survived the surgery, and we think of her as a miracle girl, but she's accomplished NOTHING compared to what Dex has done!
Bless you for having faith in your guy and giving him the opportunity to do what he obviously loves.
I'm sure you've been told a million times that Dex's story could be a HUGE inspiration to the handicapped. Thank you for sharing Dex's story with the world. We need the inspiration!
Thank you for sharing Dex's story and thank you and your wife for caring so much for Dex.
Thanks for reviving this thread also. Great story.
Dex has been chilling for a while. We get to hunt several times a year together and he does well in running water. He has picked up close to 100 birds in two years. I usually hunt two dogs just in case he gets tired. He never has just wants to go. This years youth hunt was unbelievable with him. We had teal landing on top of us. I hope to bring him to more places. We do go to schools and I would like to go to the VA. I am a disabled veteran and I thank God for my dogs. We built a kennel and Dex has his pimp pad. A 10 by 10 room with AC/Heat and heated floors with floor drains. He loves his room and it is big enough for my cot.
I was just wondering how Dex was doing. What an inspirational story. So glad to hear he's doing well.
Thx for sharing that...
