The American Thinker brings us word of an attempted assassination you probably have never heard of.

It happened in September of 2010 in Missouri. A 22 year old named Casey Brezik, wearing a bullet proof vest, charged toward Missouri’s Democratic Governor Jay Nixon with a knife and attempted to slash his throat.

The only thing I can find that represents MSM coverage is ref to a Kansas City Star article that is no longer available if you go to that website, but there are plenty of other articles about him (Nixon) from that time frame re 8/1, 8/12, 9/5, 9/15 & 9/29, and there is a mention about this on Jay Nixon's Wikipedia page. But there are charges filed against Brezik for 1st deg Assault & Armed Criminal Action filed in State Court .

Something smells here. No refs at all from CBS, NBC etc or local affiliates of an attack on the leader of a state Why would a major (?) area newspaper "scrub" any references to an attack on the state's Gov ?
Any Missouians here that remember this in the news?

It's very clear why.....

"In his “About Me” box on Facebook, Brezik listed as his favorite quotation one from progressive poster boy, Che Guevara. The quote begins “Our every action is a battle cry against imperialism” and gets more belligerent from there."

It gets better from here.

The progressives don't turn on their own.


It's really too bad Yardley isn't here to give us 6 or 8 well thought out paragraphs on why this was really a good thing!!

I remember when this happened. It was heavily reported locally on TV and in the papers in the Kansas City area. Nixon was scheduled to speak at the Penn Valley Community College, but had not arrived yet. The attacker slashed the throat of the dean and stabbed 2 others (minor wounds) that tried to stop him. It was several days before the police released details from their interview with Brezik in which Brezik told police Nixon was the intended target. Brezic told police that he had nothing against Nixon, but targeted him because he wanted to attack a high ranking government official.

The news articles about the incedent are still out there on the internet. But, I have to think it did not get as much coverage since he did not actually attack Nixon.
