people like to call themselves independent, but IMHO they are band wagoners, they will never align themselves with the losing side, instead they will wait and see who the winning side is and align themselves...they are loyal to no one except themselves...I admit which side of the fence I reside,backed a couple of losing efforts,backed a couple of losers...but my fellow like minded people never have to wonder if I will change sides in the middle of a battle waiting to see which side will prevail and come out on top

Sorry, I jumped off the Republican bandwagon when GW Bush ran for office in 2000. Then the Republicans put McCain/Palin on the ticket and could not vote for them either.

I really do not know what point you are making about your family. Are they liberal and only believe in same sex marriage or conservative and only believe in same sex marriage? I'm sorry your post does not make me feel better. Only more confused.
