Reliable Starter pistol
Ready to dump my current pistols( will actually keep them for backup)- way too many misses. Have to line it up just right and even then lucky to have 2 of 9 go off. Frustrating!
Training partner has an "ALPHA"- its NEVER misfired . What is everyone elses experience with it? Any others you can reccomend?
Thanks!!

GunX, lighter and less bulky than the Alpha

Just got one of these kids:

Not cheap but it comes with a lifetime warranty and to be perfectly honest- I doubt that anyone will ever have reason to use it. It is the end of the "which blank pistols" discussion. Nothing else is even close.
We return you now to your regular GDG regards

I've used an Alpha .209 for the past 5 years or so as has my training partner. Never once had either misfire, not fire, break down in anyway etc... I try to remember to give it a good cleaning and douse of WD-40 from time to time but that's probably only happened 3 times since I've had it. I have not used or seen in person the GunX but I hear good things and the ALPHA is on the heavy side.

Have seen Alpha's that work great and Alpha's that were nothing but a problem even straight out of the box!
Go with the GunX ... solidly made in the US, nice size grip for a smaller hand, not heavy and backed up with a lifetime guarantee.

The GunX is great, but don't use cheap primers in it.

Gun x. Mine has been awesome.

I've used people's Alpha's and had them go off before I was actually ready to shoot. Hair trigger - you'd have to get used to that
I'm too used to firing my NEF. So now I say "take your Alpha gun in with you, I'll use my own, thank you very much!"

Fiocchi primers works great in the GunX and we can usually find them cheap around here.

Have a friend with an alpha that locked up about 6 months out of warenty, my gun x has a lifetime warenty but has never had a problem.
Also even though it says not to use the Winchester primers in the GunX that has been all I have used ( only about 2,000 so far)
