Think about what a 20% tax break means to him. Think about what rolling back the Bush tax cuts means to him.
See most of us don't have greater than $1MM estates. Our taxes come in the way of ordinary income...capital gains taxes don't really effect us much....but they are huge to him when he sells Home Deput stock...agenda, agenda.
My agenda is to have guys like him pay more and guys like us pay less...as opposed to him paying much less and the middle class picking up the bill

FWIW, I think Romney shows a real enthusiasm for getting to work on the problems ... hands on. Obama may have conveyed that same image in the first couple of months of his administration, but it faded quickly. I have a hard time imagining Romney taking many vacations. He impresses me as the kind of person who ENJOYS working hard.
Romney has probably an even a worse "inheritance" than Obama had, since the debt has increased even more; and regulations have been put in place that need to actually be removed before he can put things on another track.
He will need truly to reach across the aisle with respect in a way Obama never was able to do. There are probably quite a few Dems who want things to change, but they have not been able to fight the tide of the power-brokers like Reid and Pelosi. If Romney can give those Ds an alternative, he could make things happen.
I never thought Reagan was the brightest bulb in the Oval office, but he had a strength of persona that was able to make it possible for Ds to work with him. He certainly flubbed some stuff, but overall he turned things around. Possibly Reagan was confident in his own instincts and persona, and Obama relies on Valerie Jarrett's instincts (which have often been wrong) and others around him, because deep down he, himself, knows he was unprepared for this job.
There are some indications, from those close to Romney, that he may have a similar persona to Reagan, and he has a stronger business background to fully understand economic conditions. If he can bring both those qualities together, he could really be an historically significant POTUS.
There is no doubt in my mind that the voters and media will hold him to a high standard. They will not let him get away with "it's worse than I thought." He really has his work cut out for him.
