Marv, you realy do have a problem with reading comprehension!
Back on the thread that discussed TAMU joining the SEC, I said that they would get better because the competition is better than the Big 12. That is two-three years they should schedule Texas as their out of Conference game because Texas would NOT be able to beat them!
Unlike the other Conferences, in the SEC there are 5 teams that could beat one another on any given Saturday. That is why is it such a rare season when one of the SEC teams gets through the season undefeated.
And, if anyone thinks that after a 30 plus days of rest that Alabama wouldn't beat an Oregon, Kansas St or ND is delusional! The NCAA College Playoffs can't get here soon enough for the teams in the SEC. The National Championship run of 6 straight may come to and end this season and no other Conference will ever come close. When we do have the playoffs, the SEC will dominate!
what and the other three teams wouldnt benefit from a 30 day layoff either ? Granted I dont want to give Saban one month to prepare for one game, but the same goes for Snyder,Chip Kelley...the only good thing about the layoff is that people can get healthy, but it definitely hurts a team that is playing at a high level, because its hard to keep them at such a high pitch
Congrats to the Ags and KSU. Both good squads.
Right on que here is the SEC pom-pom squad coming out and basically saying that nobody else plays real football except
the SEC.
To take a step back.....what we saw yesterday was essentially a Big 12 team, with a first year coach and a redshirt freshman quarterback, go into the vaunted Alabama's home field and win. An Alabama team with the best coach in college football with a returning starter at QB from the National Champion team. With an Big 12-style offense that supposedly would never work against the pro-style smashmouth sets of the SEC.
And frankly it shouldn't have been that close.
