Ive been working with my lab and he has all of the basic obedience down pretty good. I am going to keep working with him on the obedience but i wanted to try to go ahead and start working on getting him to kennel onto his dog stand that i have built to train with in the yard. Whats the easiest way to go about this? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Start with it as low as possible or even on the ground. gradually raise it up as he becomes more confident and understands what you want.
Start with a vari kennel. Use a rope to guide him in and a bumper to let him out.
Once he understands the game you can reinforce the command “Kennel up” with the e collar. Then transition to a platform. Use a leash to guide him onto the platform then throw a bumper to release him. Once he indicates he understands that he is to get on the platform you can use the e collar to reinforce the kennel up command there as well.
