Thanks everyone, I just wanted her to not be forgotten.
She had a box of Pop Tarts, 4 jars of baby food and most of a roast chicken while her sedation kicked in. She got to eat forbidden food and left this world with a stomach full like she never was allowed in life.
I want to think she left with a smile on her face.
That was a beautiful tribute. WHAT a wonderful dog ... she was lucky to have you and clearly you were blessed to have her. I hear over the bridge there is no such thing as “forbidden” food ... RIP Pebbles.

We talk so much about drive and breeding and color and all that, but a good dog is a good dog, and they make our lives richer. She sounds like one of those good dogs you never forget.
Condolences, it's never easy.

Bless you bless you bless you for taking on an older dog with health issues in the first place. There are precious few willing to do that.
You were her Champion and she was your Champion. That's the only title that really matters.

I am sorry for your loss. I know it was tough making that decision but it sounds like you spent the last 6 years doing what was best for her, which hopefully will give you some comfort.
